For the Boston Children’s Hospital Hale Building project in Boston, MA, we completed an extensive masonry and restoration effort that seamlessly integrated historical preservation with modern construction. The scope included the installation of over 125,000 CMU blocks, ensuring structural integrity and functionality for this critical healthcare facility.
A highlight of the project was the meticulous documentation, salvage, and restoration of the historic Wolbach Portico. Each salvaged stone was carefully cleaned and stored for three years, preserving its original character. The portico was then expertly reconstructed on the first floor of the new building, creating a stunning architectural feature that pays homage to the hospital’s history.
Additionally, we installed over 400 pieces of Vermont Granite throughout the new healing garden and at various patio levels, enhancing the building’s aesthetic appeal and providing a serene, durable environment for patients, families, and staff. This project demonstrates our commitment to craftsmanship, historical preservation, and innovative masonry solutions in support of a world-class healthcare institution.
